In 1981 , Larry was one of the prominent figures at Berklee College of Music . However , it was n't until 1986 that I got to know him better . As an Italian assistant teacher in the Berklee College program at Umbria Jazz , I had the opportunity to work closely with him until 2004 . Larry was dedicated to ensuring the program ran smoothly while also enjoying the great music and talented students around him . We often shared meals at " La Rosetta " garden , engaging in lively conversations . It was a pleasure to witness Larry 's passion for music , and I even had the chance to play alongside him on a few occasions . He was truly a remarkable saxophone player , always bringing depth and fun to his performances.
I fondly remember the moments spent with Larry , Larry Bethune , and my brother Ron Savage , sharing good dinners at " La Rosetta " and discussing everything from music to Italian cuisine .
