Longtime actors Fernando Colunga and Ana Brenda Contreras are making their debut on the Telemundo network. Colunga, a Televisa telenovela star for over two decades, is set to star in the new drama series El Conde: Amor y Honor. Contreras, who also rose to fame at Televisa, will join him in this modern reimagining of The Count of Monte Cristo, set in the 1950s in Mexico.
The story follows Colunga's character, Alejandro, a man from humble beginnings who falls in love with Mariana, played by Contreras. However, their romance is thwarted by a conspiracy that lands Alejandro in prison. He befriends a fellow prisoner who helps him escape, and he returns 20 years later as the powerful Count of Montenegro seeking revenge.
The show features a talented cast, including Chantal Andere, Sergio Sendel, and Marjorie de Sousa, adding layers to the tale of passion and retribution. The ensemble cast also includes many other notable actors, making it a highly anticipated series for fans of telenovelas.
